The primary purpose of this blog is to make sense of the numbers behind the homicides in Baltimore. All data sources are public and will be properly cited. No private information will be posted unless it is first shared by a news organization (e.g. a victim’s name). All proper attribution will be given to all sources of information.
VERY IMPORTANT: All data is subject to change. Sometimes a homicide is misclassified as such, or a death is not classified as a homicide. Other times, law enforcement reveals additional details that change the data. Please consider all data as preliminary and subject to change.
